About Us

May we take this opportunity to thank you for taking an interest in Caversham Nursery School.

We hope the following information will answer some of your questions and give you an idea of the facilities we are able to provide your child.

The nursery is divided into three age groups, each having direct access to the garden.

Our 0-2’s are on the journey of discovering the world around them. Our room names help to show how we support characteristics of effective learning. This is the beginning of the journey to become creative, curious and confident life-long learners.

Daily Routine

8:00 Arrival, Self-registration and breakfast begins / Children’s free choice of indoor activities
8:30 Breakfast finishes / Brushing teeth for children who supply their own
8:30 Garden opens
10:00-10:20 Family snack time with children’s choice of fresh fruit
10:55 Doors close in preparation for tidy up time
11:00 Tidy up time in all areas
11:15 Story and rhyme time in key groups
11:25 Wash hands for lunch
11:30 Family lunch
12:15 Arrival and departure of part time children / Self registration / Children’s free choice of activities
12:30 Sleep time / Children’s free choice of activities / Garden re-opens
2:20-2:40 Family snack time with children’s choice of fresh fruit
3:00 Story and rhyme time in key groups
3:10 Children’s free choice of activities / Garden re-opens
3:50 Doors close in preparation for tidy up time
3:55 Tidy up time in all areas / Wash hands for tea
4:00 Family tea
4:40 Children’s free choice of activities / Garden re-opens
5:30 Garden shut down time
5:45 Room shut down time / Group activities
6:00 Nursery closes

Sand, water, paint and creative activities will be available every day.
Children will have access to drinking water in lidded cups at all times.

Our 2-3’s are exploring their surroundings in many different ways. Our room names help to show how we support characteristics of effective learning. This is the next part of the journey to become creative, curious and confident life-long learners.

3:00 Focus group time (number/phonemes of the week, story, rhyme, dance)
3:10 Get ready to go home / Tea club children to gather in dining room
